Dear Families,  

On 12/14/23, an employee who provides direct patient care reported a positive COVID-19 test result. This employee last worked on 12/8/23 and developed symptoms on 12/12/23. The test result was relayed to the Hawaii State Department of Health. The employee will remain off work and will recover at home. This case is not related to the previously reported staff case.  

As a reminder:  

• ALL visitors are required to always wear a face mask while at the facility. 

• Visitors who do not follow posted infection control requirements will be instructed to leave the facility and may not be permitted to participate in future visits. 

• Visitors with respiratory illness symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test will not be permitted to participate in visitation under any circumstances.  

• Please notify the facility if you experience any respiratory illness symptoms (cough, fever, itchy/sore throat, etc.,) or have a positive COVID-19 test in the 7 days following a visit to the facility.  

We continue to follow all state and federal guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when reporting to work. All infection control measures remain in place, such as frequent cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, screening staff and visitors for signs of illness, and physical distancing as appropriate in common areas.  

We encourage everyone to remain up-to-date with all COVID-19 boosters, which includes the new bivalent booster, and to receive their annual flu vaccine.  

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cumulative case count for the facility is 56 - 36 staff, 2 contractors, 20 residents.
